Violating College Policy Off Campus

As a student, you are subject to the rules and regulations of your college at all times. You can be in trouble for violating college policy off campus. We can help.

Question:

What can I do if I’m caught violating college policies off campus?

Answer:

If you are a college student in Connecticut, you are subject to the rules and regulations of your student handbook at all times, whether you are on campus or not. If the campus handbook says that you shouldn’t be drinking on campus, and you don’t drink on campus, but then you go and drink off-campus and get some kind of a criminal charge, it’s going to get back to the school at some point, and they are going to want to make you answer for it. The reason is because you’re always representing that school. It’s like the military. When a Navy guy or an Army guy or girl is off-duty, so to speak, they are still subject to the rules of the Army. If they break those rules, even if they don’t do it on Army time or Army property, they’re going to be dealing with this with the military branch that they’re in – it’s similar to that.

That’s why when you go to college in Connecticut, but you get arrested in New York for something, the college in Connecticut that you’re going to may subject you to discipline for that. If that’s going to be something you’re dealing with, give me a call so I can help you out.
